Early Superb

Developed by Mr Reed in the 1960s, this is an attractive vigorous early variety with long thick stems which are deep bright red when young with a deep bronze red at the base, the flesh is pale green. The stalks measure 20” with large leaves of around 24”. It forces well and produces a good colour and flavour, it also produces a better colour than most other early outdoor varieties.

Brandy Carr Nurseries are pleased to be able to offer for Autumn/ Winter 2018, the following variety of Rhubarb, " Fenton's Special " This variety was bred by Mr William Fenton of Tingley in West Yorkshire in the 1940's, it is unique to Wakefield's Famous and Historic Rhubarb Triangle. This is a mid season variety which is a lovely colour out in the field for fresh market use. It also produces a deep red heavy crop when used for forced Winter Production in The Forcing Sheds, a very reliable variety all round .
