Was part of a large rhubarb trial at Wisley in 1960, originating from Wageningen in Holland. It has brilliant carmine at the base of the mainly red with light green showing through towards the leaf of the 17” long stalks, the flesh is light green. It has elongated medium green 18” heart shaped leaves.

Brandy Carr Nurseries are pleased to be able to offer for Autumn/ Winter 2018, the following variety of Rhubarb, " Fenton's Special " This variety was bred by Mr William Fenton of Tingley in West Yorkshire in the 1940's, it is unique to Wakefield's Famous and Historic Rhubarb Triangle. This is a mid season variety which is a lovely colour out in the field for fresh market use. It also produces a deep red heavy crop when used for forced Winter Production in The Forcing Sheds, a very reliable variety all round .
